There is
a special place
in our hearts
for those we have loved
for those who have loved us
without question,
without a word or promise....
There is a special place
where there is no pain or fear,
where love flows freely....
There is a special place
to rest in our hearts forever

Windcrest Chelsey
Aug. 8, 1997-Nov. 13, 2007

Chelsey was the wisest donkey I have known. She just had an air of wisdom about her. Chelsey's last jennet foal died in utero months premature on Nov. 4, 2007.
Chelsey joined her baby at the Rainbow Bridge on Nov. 13, 2007.

Cyder's Bay Berry
May 11, 1999-Aug. 9, 2009

Berry was truly one of the most wonderful donkeys we will ever know. She was friendly, loving and had a sweet disposition. Berry died two weeks after giving us her legacy to care for and remember her by...

C & S Dreams Berry's Legacy known as Clay after Cassius Clay, the boxer. We knew he would have to be a fighter to make it without his mother.
Clay was only with Berry for about 36 hours since she was too weak to produce any milk.
Clay is a very special boy to us!

Little Angel Baby
Oct. 13, 2004-Oct.16, 2004
We didn't really have time to get to know her well since she was only on this Earth three days. She did show me proof positive that donkeys do mourn! We had left the little jennet and her first time mom, Big Woods Charlesy, with the vet the day before she died. The little baby died there that night with her mom by her side. Having no place at that time to bury the baby and being completely devastated by the first loss of one of our donkeys, we left the baby's body with the vet. We loaded Charlesy in the trailer as we cried all the way home. Once home I took Charlesy into the pasture and sat with her hoping to somehow comfort her. The trailer was not far from us in the driveway. Charlesy went to the gate close to the trailer and called and called while looking at the trailer. She would not go out in the pasture with the other donkeys. She was inconsolable. Charlesy kept up the calling for her baby a good hour or more. It was heartbreaking!

These are truly amazing creatures one and all that we donkey enthusiasts have the privilege to know!
These three that past through my life will remain a part of me. I love and miss each one of them
immensely.

Until we meet again.
